Good thing the only dinner restaurant in town s so good! So I've been here a million times since my last review, and the eggplant parm is still my favorite (though I strongly feel they could be more generous with the marinara), but I haven't had anything bad or even mediocre here. Good Caesar salad, other fresh salads (I love the house-made parmesan-peppercron dressing), steaks cooked just the way you asked, amAzing bread, and some of the best wings I've had in a long time -- 40 cents a wing every Wednesday! The nightly surf n' turf specials have been consistently good, too, and I also love the steak and blue cheese quesadilla. I'm not sure what other reviewers are looking for in ambience -- I like the local, family feel of it, like a true pub in England or Ireland. It seems to bring together a community that is kinda divided between the school and the rest of town. It kind of reminds me of Cheers, where everybody knows your name. (Or at least recognizes you form around town.) Also, the staff is responsive and friendly. Family-friendly and reasonably priced, too.

I ordered a shrimp pizza with so much powdered garlic my lips became chapped. Somehow at the same time it was flavorless. Odd grilled pizza shell, I should have asked. Beer was cold, waitress was nice.

Not impressed! Have tried it several times, hoping it would be different. It wasn't. The food is fine, bit it depends on who's in the kitchen that night. Service has ranged from adequate to poor. Won't be back.

i am torn between 3 and 4 stars. for several reasons. this really is the only joint in town. there is a pizza place and a cafe but this is the only place you can really sit down and dine. or go to the bar and have drinks and snacks. and the food is quite good, most certainly above regular bar fare, the chef is a really nice man that comes out and asks how your meal is. he tries a number of different things for specials that have always turned out to be good and tasty. the prices are also prety much normal. a steak dinner is around $20 and a chicken or calamari salad (large) is around $10. the drinks are usually quite a nice pour and the service is, for the most part, friendly. this leaves the only reason that i have trouble with the 4 stars. the place lacks character. it is clean and lots of wood but there is no personality to it. i would suggest that they spice up the place, let the interesting nature of the food shine thru and make it feel less like a cafeteria.

Very erratic, though portions are always generous. It depends who's cooking back there, I think. Nothing to write home about.

I want to give this place a second chance really badly. The first time I went was a few weeks ago, I got vegetable pit stickers that while tasty, where extremely hot in the middle and the "sweet and spicy" sauce was more spicy than anything. I ordered the fish and chips, although a lot of there food looks really good! The fish came out looking ok but it came out looking almost like a 2x4 of fish, the breading was so heavy I barely got to taste the fish. The fries were nice though, the Coleslaw is very dry but it has good flavor! It needs a little more creaminess to it. The in house root beer was the best part, the staff is great and I would Come back! No Wi-fi, good parking, handicap accessible, bar and dining room, good for all party sizes and ages. Wide variety. Fun environment,

Always good, always consistent . Bill and Spike know there stuff and I'm grateful I've become a somewhat normal visitor . The staff is always attentive and nice . The bar is always full and the clientele is great. I've been alone and with my kids either way we were happy happy happy. Thanks guys!,,

I love the simplicity of the ambiance, local artistes work is displayed, everything is simple. I feel as comfortable in jeans and a T-shirt as I do in a dress and heals. I have never had a bad meal or bad drink. Wings Wednesday is awesome but can be busy. I think my favorite dish is the fish taco, but I also love the chicken parm!

What a surprise! Thanks to other reviews, we decided to give this place a try. I had the "surf and turf" special which tonight was ribeye and scallops. Perfectly cooked. My wife had the grilled salmon salad. She said it was second only to extremely fresh salmon cooked straight off the boats in Seattle. They were healthy portions. The only complaint we have is that it was a little slow tonight. If you take into account that it is Sunday night on the Memorial Day weekend, then I think that's understandable. A very good find.

Hopefully, this becomes my new, go to lunch place since I'm working at the local college right around the corner the next few months. I've only been once but I foresee myself going back over and over and over and over again. The gentleman service was overly friendly, standard for this area of Vermont but can never be overlooked. It was about 75% full at lunch time which is always nice to see since it can be tough to get customers to walk in your doors before dinner, especially in tiny towns like this. My order was taken a bit slowly but the food was out in about 10 minutes. I was seated in an oversized booth which is the type of seating they mainly had. After walking to the restroom, I also noticed a fairly packed bar on the other side which I might check out another blustery, winter night. The only thing I can even criticize is that it is rather homely and bland inside. The standout here was three fold. First, the veggie "burger" I had. Maybe it wasn't called a burger on the menu, I'll have to check again. But MY GOD, this was the best veggie patty I've ever gotten my paws on (caveat, I'm not a vegetarian). Definitely made in house and on a surprisingly delectable bread. I wanted two sides so I went with the cole slaw, yet another standout here.....gotta be made in house on a daily basis, balanced perfectly when normally I need to add salt and/or pepper to it at most restaurants. And finally, the fresh cut french fries. A tad soggy but nothing beats golden brown shoestrings cut and dropped in a fryer. Just leave them in a few seconds longer next time, kay? They don't do anything fancy here, just give you great customer service and serve up excellent grub, you can't ask for anymore than that so they can't ask for anymore stars from their reviewers.

Hey I live here and on Wednesday nights this is the best place to go. Why? Because: WEDNESDAY WING NIGHT !!! YEAHHH It is only 50¢ per wing which considering is pretty cheap. Good size wings you can choose your own sauce flavor ( teriyaki or hot like five different flavors ) or get half and half if you get twelve wings. Service is friendly and it is a good fun summer evening thing!

Unfortunately my three friends and I got food poisoning from undercooked wings. We also had to wait for a server to give us any attention/seat us for quite a good amount of time.
